Mindless

What am I to do when

the one person who I thought I would never loose,

the person I confided in,

the person who stopped me from crying,

the person who made each day something to look forward to,

walks out of my life?

It makes me feel abandoned,

how am I supposed to trust another human being

when anyone in my life can walk away

at any time

for any reason

or no particular reason at all.

There is no sense in making permanent decisions

on temporary feelings,

but at times we cannot always control our feelings

loss hurts and the hard truth is

nothing in this world is forever, even if it seems so.

Not the trees, not the hair in our scalps, and not love.

The hard truth is

love may last for a long time,

but love does not last forever.

So hold on to it when you find it

but not too tight

because when it starts to fade,

you'll loose a part of you as well.
