Mindless Moves

We are in a room full of desperation, you and I

Let’s keep dancing to make the lonesome time go by

I have to trust you, so keep me distracted

Help me obliterate the memory of what you said, and how you acted

The way we move, manifested by how wretched we feel over a certain disadvantage

He’s dancing all over the heart he broke, but she will find a way to manage

In this moment I love and hate you at the same time

Is wanting to hurt someone while dancing considered a crime?

After we dance you ask me to stay

But I need to get home to my parents before the start of a new day

Leaving the dance floor in a hurry

The hushed and uneasy car ride home is blurry

The strings drag behind me

Ignoring my feelings that are deeper than the sea

Our show is over so please do not return

So that I can let the memory of you crash and burn
