mind's eye: visual imagery

these abstractions that burst from the dark recesses

which dance in streaming color,

bending light from the mind's own diaphragm

into prisms of layered thought

The shape of words which flow from the black well,

breaths rising from the deep waters as pockets of apprehension

drawing upon the faculties swimming in consciousness' pool
