Mind’s Eye
My view is from the corner where the ceiling meets the wall;
While floating up here I can see everything overall;
How long does it take to understand and need not ask why?
I think at thirty-eight I’m half way there before I die.
My mind can now separate and drift to my perch up high;
Objectively there is a part of me, which wants to fly;
Through my mind my spirit soars, my body need not go far;
The less I think about it, I drift further, to a star.
But stars are not quite home to me from where my body rests;
I’d rather gaze below to understand life’s tasks and tests;
To observe the happiness as it all fits together;
From my mind’s eye up high on a cloud light as a feather.
