Minnow

I am a silver minnow
I hover then dart resolutely
towards nothing in particular
Such violent, sharp-edged (e)motion
only to float silently once more
suspended in a muted hour
Anticipating the next thrash
befuddled by the last…
Prisoner in the memory of a net.
