Minor Melodies

So many things

That many people don't know

The enlightenment they seek

Is nothing more than whispers in the dark

A song that plays and speaks

From someone all alone

In the dark of the night

Pressing keys and creating melodies

Melodies and harmonies meant for no one

Throughout the neverending darkness

The song plays out

The sound waves can only carry so far

Until they disperse in the air

Unable to touch the moon

The stars and the sky

The tune will carry on

As a weight upon the player’s chest

It will lay dormant in memory

Never to die

Never for anyone

It will be an unplayed song

That only one other can hear

But the tune has fallen on deaf ears

And will continue to be nothing more

Than memory
