The Minority War

So many have come before us So many have fought the battle That we are fighting now African Americans Fought to prove that they are equal That the color of skin does not matter You are equal to the white man next to you Women Fought to prove that they are equal That gender does not matter You are equal to the man next to you Homosexuals Still fighting to prove that they are equal That the person you love does not matter You are equal to all the men and women around you Minorities will always fight this battle We are the Land of the Free But we reject change African Americans fought for years Before the hate crimes finally stopped Women are still fighting on many fronts For equality to men Homosexuals have just started the fight How long will the battle last? Will the war ever end?
