Miracle
She felt the words upon her arm
As each day went by, hopeless.
She felt the weight upon her shoulders
As she took on more than was asked, exhausted.
She felt the lack of time constraining her
But she begged for a miracle, hopeful.
She sat alone begging for a miracle
Her dreaded foe staring at her through the mirror
The days burn through hopeless and hopeful
As she gets the courage to beg for a miracle
A beauty of twenty some
Lost beneath the sun
Her words spoke without emotion
But she felt their commotion
Growing ever frustrated with the days wasted
She begs for a miracle, hopeful
She sat alone begging for a miracle
Her dreaded foe staring at her through the mirror
The days burn through hopeless and hopeful
As she gets the courage to beg for a miracle
She wakes that summer morning
To her astonishment she no longer has to beg
For the miracle is already there
Waking up for the first time in years
To a world she was begging to find
Speechless as the tears run down her cheek
She rests easy knowing she’s safe
She breathes easy for the first time.
A miracle at last.
