THE MIRACULOUS FLOW OF BLOOD by Charles Hamouth

THE MIRACULOUS FLOW OF BLOOD   by Charles Hamouth

at the foot of the giant hill made of stone
with its peak of white
i meditate on the hunter green carpeted soil
my spirit starts to ascend starts to exit my body
i feel the last breath leave my empty shell
the sound alone would scare even the noble spartan soldiers
like the music of the scottish bagpipes that in war send
those fighting on the other side running away in fear
as i lay there like one who is neither dead or living
i witness two burning white silver winged angels blind the night
then arbitrarily sprinkle crystals to light a pathway against the black night
like matured artists they sculpt engrave and paint effortlessly then
unexpectedly fly away like streaking comets having changed directions
suddenly they are gone

one tall
one very tall
large
very large
angel with skin
of pure yellow gold
descends upon me
whispers in my ear
my meagre  soul merges with his frame
as one we fly
arriving at the gates of heav...

no wait
my eyes play tricks on me
on a dirt road just beyond the moon
we stand in front of
an entrance of rusting wrought iron
as the gates open
he answers my thought

"the war...
the war against the rogue angels...
that is why we use hidden quarters here"

he adds

"the rust...they can't be within a hundred feet of this particular type
the rogue angels
it keeps them out"
addressing my next thought Ariel says

"no
you did not die,
but you will die,
you will die...

A FINAL DEATH!

you will be the first
since the beginning
but the survival of mankind
depends on you
depends on

A FINAL DEATH
YOUR FINAL DEATH

we need your blood...
all of it...

will you sacrifice your eternal life
to save those who can not save theirs"

i replied

my voice shaking

i made no obvious comments
though i admit the idea of not existing
was at first hard to wrap
my mortal mind around...
however...
having been a part of Ariel
i understood

i understood everything.
"yes" i said
I said "yes"

and

never uttered another word.

Ariel
his gold stature glowing
like...
like nothing else i'd ever seen
lit the universe

from his eyes
me
me as tears of blood
started to flow
from his eyes my blood

flowed

and flowed

like a river

like a stream

like a waterfall

creating an ocean of blood
of me
everything that i was
...now...reduced to these amazing blood tears
that
flowed and flowed
flowed like deep red vein through the universe

as i slowly lost consciousness
i watched the Galaxies reform themselves

pure as the first moment they existed

on neither side of time

the Universe know no time
its Galaxies
no beginning
no end
no time

i saw
and
what
i saw
was good

i knew all that was evil
was being cleansed
content
at peace
without fear
I released my last breath
as my last sense of consciou
