Mirage

Sometimes I think,
You never existed.
Maybe I just,
Imagined you?

You were there when I needed it most,
But why don't you realize,
I still do.

Sometimes I wonder,
If you ever existed.
Maybe I just,
Imagined you?

I wouldn't be surprised,
As my brain has always been queer.
But I can't bear the thought,
Of you not being near.

Where are you?

Why don't you understand,
I still need you.
Why did you leave,
Did I do something wrong?

I could have changed,
I would have tried.
I would have done anything you asked me to.
If only you were still here.

Sometimes I think,
You were just a mirage.
A figment of my imagination,
Something I needed,
But I never got.
So I created it.

At times I wonder,
If you'll ever be back.
And then I think,
Were you ever really here?
