The Mirror

The mirror.

This is the most common

yet unknown

weapon used today.

Teens wake up each morning

this is what they see:

Themselves.

They see

a person they don’t want to be.

They see

Insecurity

The kind that is wrapped around their minds

changing

the way they act

the way they think

the way they see life

The mirror.

This is a looking glass

to the world of “i don’t want to be me

anymore”

It’s the portal

to unsatisfied appearances

But

what if you took the time

to wipe the fog off the glass

and the fake off your face,

then look in the mirror?

You would see YOU

Unmasked.

But would that change you enough

to walk out of your front door

and not be scared

of the world

anymore?

Or

would you turn the shower back on

just to fog up your mirror

Again?

Dear insecurity

Shatter your mirror
