Mirror

Like a pool of water reflects the light, She portrays the role she's been cast. You think you see through her, but what you see Is just the mask she put on last. Beautiful reflection, shimmering glimpse of what was, Layered mirrors hiding what is. She hardly remembers who she is deep down; All she knows is she wants to be his. She wants to be loved, so became a reflection, Looks like others so that she'll fit in. She's forgetting: a mirror is only as beautiful As the one who's looking in. Come back to the surface, look inward again, If he's worth it, he'll love the real you. Step away from hiding, it's time to be found, There is a freedom that comes with the truth. There is a certain allure to rain and tears, but Don't forget the power in a smile. Sometimes it's so hard to let your true self show, But it's worth the extra mile. She comes out of hiding and takes off her mask, Breaks the mirror, a reflection no more. Love will come when the time is right, so with strength, She walks out the door.
