The Mirror

What would I take

if I was on an island alone?

Would I take a life boat that would help me float back to my home?

A concreate jungle filled with apes and jaguars

racing to the top of the Empire to dethrone our king.

Or would I bring a life time supply of food and water?

Books that would be food for thought

and music that would quench my undeniable thirst for rythm.

Or will I simply bring a mirror?

A reflection of myself that may have been lost in the jungle.

A sense of morality, a sense of compassion, a sense of self.

What if I am already alone on an island called Manhattan

and a mirror was all I needed to bring myself home?

All I need is a mirror.
