Mirror

A reflection seen

A voice unheard

Ears that listened

Hearts that feel

Emotions felt

Hands that caress

Eyes that shine with mystery

Kindness hidden underneath a cold façade

Sealed lips with unforetold secrets

Manicured nails bitten down to the nub

Teeth clenched to prevent harmful words from escaping

Legs used to stand strong

Arms for embracing

The warmth of a smile

With the power to demolish the barriers once needed to protect

A person capable to do all

But fears to lead the way

This is what I see

Every time a mirror is laid in front of me
