The mirror

Looking in the mirror who do you see

I see a girl who’s heart is damaged

A girl with the heart of broken promises and dreams

A girl who constantly lives a lie

A girl with a smile that seems it’s stapled on just barely

Falling slowly

Her eyes are bloodshot from her tears

But she can’t let them see

No

Never

This girl turns her head away from the world but puts on a mask so she can live in solitare

This girl bleeds every day

More each time

But there aren’t any visible scars

For the blood is from her damaged heart

The people she’s surrounded by are what the average person would call “friends” but she doesn’t have friends she has enemies in disguise

All have a gun in hand

And her slightest movement will make them pull the trigger

Stab her in the heart

Poison her

Burn her

Freeze her

Drown her

Kill her

...

But none of that happens because in the mirror

you all see a perfectly normal girl
