MIRROR

I stand before
the mirror.
Hollowed cheeks.
Dark ringed eyes.
The furrow on the forehead
that has become permanent.
Breasts hanging down
with the force of gravity.
Protruding belly.
Waist which refuses
to be contained
by your hand.
Grey hairs that peep out
in spite of the hairdye.
Is it me visible
in the mirror
or you who
has permeated me?
You keep drawing
the lines of time.
I keep disappearing.
Switch off the light.
The mirror does not lie.
You get lost too.
Let there be dawn for light.
