Mirror
I find myself stuck in a cycle
a cycle of repetition
where my flesh is the vehicle
and my sin is the engine
No matter how hard I try
no matter how much I pray
I cant shake the thought, the idea, or the way
Now i'm no vampire
No no not at all
I just cant stand mirrors
cause they show me how hard i've fallen from the call
I seek and I read
I ask and I intercede
but these are just empty words
just nouns and verbs that I feed
The enemy feeds me these lies
he twists His words away from the truth
I dont know how to seek Him
He's making my God seem like some kind of Zeus
I've said the some confessions
I've sang the same songs
I've admitted my faults
and i've admitted my wrongs
I keep thinking i'm better
that I wont sin anymore
How could I be so foolish?
Thats like saying one plus one equals four
You see sin is sin
no matter the weight
because the fact of the matter is
all required a price to be paid
All my life i've relied on one thing
and thats my strength to hold me through
that my righteousness and holiness
could bring me to straight to you
I admit now i'm defeated
I cant do it anymore
my life will never be completed
I need Him all the more
So lets abandon the lies
lets forget the deceit
lets join in forgiveness
lets profess our great need
The payment has been paid
the debt has been burned
the tomb has been empty
now its time for our hearts to be turned
