Mirror

Mirror, how many years can you survive? Not many, surely, with all of the roller coaster rides. Up and down, left to right- The scratches from these rides are not a pretty sight. Mirror, how many years can you withstand? Certainly not too many more being as though you're not in good hands. Hands that were never supposed to harm or hurt you- Now you're beginning to crack, too. Mirror, mirror on the wall You, my friend have been through it all. Mirror, mirror, I see it so clearly Because you, mirror, are a reflection of me. How am I surviving after all of these years? Years of bottling my feelings of terror and fear. These feelings drowned by many seconds, of many minutes, of many hours of tears. Tears from the words that cut so deep that my heart is seared. I question what happens every day. Why do things have to be this way? "Only God knows," or at least that's what they say. God can you hear me? I really need a friend. Somewhere I can go, and maybe start over again. I can't take this brokenness anymore, Can you help me mend? I'm shattered and broken But I'm not ruined My life is a token But the towel, I will not throw in Even though my life is not what I expected it to be And I struggle everyday, My life still has meaning and a purpose and I will not throw it away.
