The Mirror Convorsation

You look into the mirror

Of your brightly lit hospital bathroom

Thinking of the nurse that yelled at you

Thinking of those kids that told on you

Thinking of  life

You talk to yourself through this glass contraption

The things you say harm your brain

But it's not like anyone notices

Until you write a note and give up on that glass

Knowing you won't even last

And that's how you ended up here

The glass will talk and tell you things

Not to believe a word they say

Not to trust

To be

AFRAID

To notice stares

And the things they said

To let their voices ring

Inside your vacant head

Sometimes you liked to sit and stare

At the glass

Wondering who you had become

Wondering if you being there meant you had won

The war that goes on inside your brain

I don't think I'll ever come to love

That piece of glass

But at least when i look in it now

It doesn't talk back
