Mirror Mirror

You are not pretty

Perceiving your prettiness is presumptuous

Don’t you dare think you’re pretty

Prettiness is a monster that will eat you alive

Every time I look in the mirror I see her

The mirror hits me and punches me

That girl standing there?

She’s got the uglies and you’re gonna catch em

Ugliness is like a parasite

It’ll feed until there’s nothing left

Your insides will curl and twist

And you can’t just remove it

My plump lips are too big, they’ll eat you up

My chocolate eyes are too brooding, they’ll steal your soul

My caramel skin is too dark, you shouldn’t touch me

I’ve caught those uglies

Why would that girl in the mirror do this?

What have I ever done to her?

She’s made me ugly

This is the beginning of the end

And if I could tell her one thing

That poor girl in the mirror

Who was staring right at me

I’d say, “You’re not pretty, you’re beautiful”.
