Mirror Writer
She looks in the mirror
In silent contemplation,
Glimpses her center
During deep relaxation.
She conceives while she’s sleeping,
Imagines when dreaming,
And sees herself weeping,
Dark memories creeping.
She creates the impossible,
Her excitement is palpable,
Her inventions immeasurable,
As a life is incalculable.
She rides a horse to the moon and back;
Reads a book from end to front;
Takes a nap on the head of a cat;
Leads the earth on a surprising hunt.
She smells a rose on the peak of Everest,
Strokes a shark in the deep of the sea,
Lies on the sun with a tan on her chest,
Listens to the voice of a chattering bee.
She writes it all down,
The story of her dreams.
In her memories she’s found
How amazing it seems
To let herself drown
And wipe her soul clean
And pour out her own,
Both bright and dark dreams
Her poetry is dear,
Her memories clear
Her writing reflects
What she sees in the mirror.
