The Mis of Mags
Pale, waspy childlike figures
with chalky lipstick and limp/boisterous manes,
big bug eyes engorged with a numb disposition,
and labels printed on limbs as fashion instead of oppression.
Sweating with the lushness of youth,
sun rays climb the arcs of airbrushed hips
while the nude lines of defined backspaces entwine with the luster of gray
Branded beauties to prey on the credulity of an adolescent mind.
In contrast
To the pages left over for articles to relate to past lives and lessons
savored only by the stark outlines of wrinkles, regret, and politics.
Life has become fatigued with abrasive oversea happenings and dealings,
Current controversial events that are warped with black and white opinions
and colorless facts by editor’s choice.
A perfuming lofty creature cascades over the last page of this encounter with a magazine.
