Misconceptions of Your Assumption

I sit in class
Putting forward my attention,
Thinking of the equations,
Understanding the lessons,
Ignoring the distractions.

Yet it seems,
In your eyes,
That I do not care.
In your eyes,
I am like the others,
Distracting and unthinking.

Because I choose solitude
Over the distractions of others,
I am able to do the work
And allowed to think clearly,
But in your eyes
I do absolutely nothing.

This is what I have been doing
for you and your class:
I sit in class
Putting forward my attention,
Thinking of the equations,
Understanding the lessons,
Ignoring the distractions.
