Misguided Influence (A Message to Rap's "Thugs")
"Tupac is the greatest"
He inspired you write about cars and getting girls
Basically all of rap's latest.
You talk as though you looked up to Pac,
More like idolized him.
Ate up his lyrics and metabolized him.
Then regurgitated him, but no one revitalizes him.
No All Eyes On Him.
You actualize him.
You got it all messed up.
Turned upside down and backwards.
So wrong, even up to his last words.
Girls and steady pimpin was more of a persona.
There's a deeper meaning to thug life you didn't even know of.
To him, rap's more than flow.
More than hoes.
More than guns,
And what it up front shows.
Rap is a vehicle for Changes
We spend our lives regretting the lives we were living
Instead of living.
Instead of giving.
Instead of throwing them at something that matters.
Most of you will laugh but take away the rage and the pain
And the drugs and the money and the girls and the thugs....
What's left for you so called lyrical geniuses?
Something wrong with this poem?
