misPerception

I’m done trying;

I’m all tried out.

I just don’t care anymore,

You were all I cared about.

You left me alone,

With no one to love,

Completely left bare.

I want to go now

Away from people like you,

Those who rob my joy,

Yes, especially you.

I can’t stand you anymore, dear girl,

You, the one everyone thinks is a pearl.

You, so high and mighty,

You, so Godly and true.

Everyone else may be fooled,

But I can see straight through.

You’re weak and tempt able,

Easily given in.

I thought I could hate you,

But I can’t pronounce it, even with a pen.

My heart is what keeps me locked,

Locked by your side,

In the wake of pain,

Unable to hide.

You are cruel and mean,

Oh, but by God, I can’t be weaned!

So foolish of me to believe in you;

I should have seen it first--

You could never be my friend,

But I had to quench my thirst.

I needed a friend, one loyal and true,

By God I thought I’d found one in you,

Oh, how wrong I was in my misery.

How wrong I am.
