Missed Pieces

The sound was of a river

flowing out to sea

My tired eyes grew worried

as it all came back to me...

I saw a face

but it wasn't enough.

I miss that smile

Trust me, I miss a lot

They say a picture is worth a thousand words

It's nothing but a glimpse past and gone

Summer nights spent in Tennessee

It all means so much...

Humming birds suckling sweet necture

Nibbling squirrels chased away by cats

Dragonfly land on the only flower

in the field.
