Missing Dad
I hoped to spend more time with you
But I waited too long to come
I was coming that day to stay with you
But the angels were urging you on
I had so much to say to you
But the words would not be spoken
I wanted to help take care of you
But our Lord said it’s time to come home.
I will whisper my words to the heavens
God will see that you hear
So you’ll know what I’ve been thinking
How hard I’ve prayed through my tears
I want you to know that I love you
And that we’ll all be fine down here
I wanted to say that it’s ok to go
When you’re ready, go without fear
I’ll miss you but I’ll know in my heart
That you’ve gone to be with our Lord
I will cry because it’s lonely without you
But will smile at the memories we shared
I prayed for the day that your body would heal
That your days with me would be longer
But God had a different plan for you
So I’ll gracefully let you go
One glorious day I’ll come see you
When my time on earth is done
I’ll have forever to spend with you
On the day that the Lord calls ME home
