Missing Mom

I closed my eyes real tight

And this is what I saw

I saw her planting pansies

She was working in the yard

I saw her smile and hug me

When I got home from school

I saw her in the kitchen

Cooking all my favorite food

I saw her sing her silly songs

The ones that she taught me

I saw her eyes look very proud

And looking straight at me

I saw her at my bedside

As I lay down to sleep

I saw her read her bible

And teach me how to pray

I saw her rock my babies

And bounce them on one knee

I hope that I can be the Mom

That she once was to me

We talked and we told stories

Of the good times that we had

I saw her having so much fun

Laughing out so loud

It felt so real, I hoped it was

Don't let this good time end

When I opened up my eyes

I thought that she'd be gone

But she's still here, I feel her

She lives within my heart.
