Mistakes Granted
Sing to me and through me tell the story of the doodler and her toils.
The night where she deceived herself.
Ignoring the man that stood upon her shoulder.
He said no, your desires blind you,
Yet the doodler continued,
As the sweet music whisked through the air.
Tell us of the way her hips swayed and her hands intertwined with his.
Oh speak of these truths and the faith she lost with herself and him.
Her mind was lost and confused,
What morals she once knew were soon dissipated.
Lost in the air.
As this devil swept her away, devouring what strength she had left.
As he began to swallow her whole,
The doodler surrendered with open arms,
Ashamed and confused by such actions.
But how the man,
Perched upon her shoulder, knew he could no longer lend a hand.
It was with such actions that the doodler was lost.
Intertwined and embedded within her toils.
Her actions admitted, confused and uncertain.
But it was for this she knew,
She knew herself, what steps to take to find
Who she was.
It was with this, and only this, she knew.
Mistakes are granted to develop the mind.
Drowned in relief and determination, she knew,
One day,
She would be free.
