Mistreated

Tossed in the dirt like yesterday's trash I yearn for your touch, your love As you fade from my view, into the shadows of yourself Come back I reach for you, retreating footsteps echo all around Mascara and lipstick smear my tear-stained cheecks I choke back the impending sobs Holding back the raging waves of emotion within me I call your name, a plea for forgiveness Your cold stare freezes my entire being Rejected and confused I'm sorry for what I did What did I do? I ask and plead for explanation Yet you toss me like yesterday's trash
