Mistress of Darkness

Based on the work of author Sarah J. Maas

Formed from darkness
it was all he knew.
Flying through the solid abyss,
corrupt caverns of muffled screams,
encased in suffocating coffins.

Betrayal and false love was her.
Nights awake in her chambers,
fearing the light for it will expose
the blood tracing her hands,
faces contorted in fear.

Until her.
Until him.

She too was formed from darkness,
he shared her fears.

His second half,
her second half.

But, oh, how she glowed within.
She hummed with the darkness.
Now he saw the darkness for its beauty.

But, oh, how he read her.
He soothed every pained word she spoke.
Now she was able to smile again.

Nights beneath the sparkled sky,
cabin speckled with colors contrasting,
chamber radiating with heat.

Nights that meanded the wounds
inflicted on their immortal souls.
