Misunderstood

A girl with dreams and aspirations.

A girl who fears the unknown,

lives in the present instead of the future.

A girl who's funny and kind,

but her words can cut like a knife.

A girl with hopes and ambitions.

Normally perceived as the "good" one,

but for those who say that don't really know what's underneath.

A girl who waits for the person to peel back her layers,

until they discover what truly hides beneath.

She believes her soul is lost,

because she doesn't know which path to follow.

She believes she's the moon when she's the sun.

She puts her thoughts on paper.

And she quotes lines and lyrics because they express who she is without her appearing vulnerable.

She believes she is the darkness that hides behind the light,

when in fact she is the light that out shines the darkness.

The words she had written on paper were much easier to express,

then letting the sentences fall past her lips.

Her biggest fears were on that paper but so were her greatest dreams.

Her thoughts made her vulnerable because the voices start to eat away at her insecurities,

making her feel doubt, unworthy and sadly alone in a world made up of 6 billion people.

Here lies a girl who seems plain and boring with her dark colored curls and her dark brown eyes yet she's the one to have around.

She's sweet and kind because deep down there's an open space left for happiness, even though the world seems dark and cruel.

She keeps a positive attitude because she won't let the darkness overcome her and make her the person people believe she is at first glance.

Plain.
