Misunderstood

We’ve been called many names in the book

They’ve judged us by our skin color & the way that we look

Our beautiful black woman has been downgraded

Our handsome black men are unliked, hated

They say our men are armed and dangerous

They say our woman are filled with nothing but lust

Im steady screaming who the fuck are they to judge us

Standing up for ourselves and our reputation is a must

I’m saying they as if we don’t do the same to one another

We hate the others but we don’t even see we killing our own color

How the fuck we steady letting the whites laugh at us

Back in the days standing together was a must

Our black men are using GUNS scared to fight

Our black women are sleeping with a new nigga every night

Us black motherfuckers acting like we forgot what SELF RESPECT is

All this black on black violence starts as kids

We got to come together , we got to succeed

I believe in us we come from an intelligence seed

We should be proud of the color of our skin it represents what we been through

Why let the others define us and the things that we do

We are not the things that they call us

We have to stand up for ourselves it’s a must

If they wanna know who we are tell em take a look Our skin color itself defines 400years of pain

We are individuals who are misunderstood not insane

Misunderstood is what we are

They don’t understand why we take it so far

They think we all ratchet and all hood

But tell em FUCK EM we just some intelligent mfs who are misunderstood!
