Misunderstood Books

So Consumed In Re-Reading Old Chapters

Hoping The Plot Has Changed

Not Realizing The Book Will Never Be Edited

So You Label It Discontinued

And Hide It On The Deepest Shelf

Knowing That In This Generation No One Likes To

Or Even Cares To Read

They're Too Consumed In Greed

So Busy Trying To Impress Each Other

Not Knowing Inside We All Have That Hidden Chapter

They Love To Judge A Book By Its Cover

Worn And Torn And Damaged By Its Owner

Not Knowing There's An Adventurous Story Inside

Put A Book In Front Of Their Face And They'll Act Blind

But When I Read I Leave The Hell

That I Am Currently Implanted On

And Begin My Journey

To A Place Where I Can See, Hear, Feel, And Understand

A Place Greater Than This Land

A Place Where I Don't Have To Fool Myself And Others Im Happy

Because In This World I Feel Crappy

It's All Just A Trap To Me

So When I Read Just Let Me Be.
