Mixed Feelings
Dear High School Me,
I am sorry for everything that I didn’t do. I am sorry for not realizing my full potential for the sport I love. I am sorry for not giving my all, except for when it was too late. I am sorry I didn’t see what everyone else saw in me. I am sorry for letting you down dad. I am sorry for letting my dream slip out of my hands. I am sorry for never saying thank you to my parents for everything they sacrificed for me. I am sorry for never realizing all the good things I had in my life. I understand that I cannot go back and change anything. I know that I will be living the rest of my life wondering what if. Wondering what could have been if I actually gave it my all. I am sorry that I just now saying sorry. At the same time High School Me, thank you allowing me to live the life I wanted. Thank you for blessing me with the friends that I truly need forever. Thank you for blessing me with a beautiful woman who has helped me see the world differently. Thank you for letting me gain confidence in every aspect of my life. Thank you for pushing me every single day. Thank you for never letting me give up on myself or anyone I love. I have mixed feelings for you High School Me. I love you, but at the same time I hate you more than words can explain. But at the same time, you were the one who took away the pain. I am sorry High School Me for not being who everyone wanted me to be, but thank you for allowing me to be who I wanted to be.
Love Your’s,
Marcus
