MLK Spoken Word-Obama's Point of View

Inspiration inspiring inspiration, you all look up to me but I was inspired to run the nation.

He made history by freeing his people, our people, God's people.

He had a dream and provided us with the means to believe that our voice was strong enough to succeed…

In a land... where we wore the word nigger over our heads and stayed down in fear of being shot dead.

In a land... where education was much harder for us to take advantage of than the whites.

Is this the whites’ land?

Or is it our land?

We the people not we the people without color.

In a land... where we were beaten and once sold.

You taught me to be quiet and listen before approaching the matter.

To fight with passion and confront with less anger.

To unite as one and fight for our rights.

FIGHT FOR OUR VOICE!

FIGHT FOR A CHOICE!

Fighting with words and not fists.

Fight to write my name in the book where history is written.

The first black president… wait scratch that

The first articulate inconspicuous african american until ready to show the world that has become naturally oblivious to the hate and the pain that harbors people as if they were all slaves lacking a real name but have numbers on their collars.

He had a dream and forced this image into reality.

We are all free because of him.

When you pat your back that should be because of him.

When you clap and snap that should be because of him.

On this day we celebrate this great man of God.

On this day we celebrate our freedom.
