Mobile Phone
Stop. Put down the phone don’t look at me as if you are some mindless drone addicted to your phone as if everything important in life can be found in that little zone I said put down the phone. Stop acting like that little phone is some royal crown that you can don I said, put down the phone. While you are texting your heys the rest of the world is going away it’s as if real people are in the way of the virtual world that everyone likes to blame for all the crappy stuff that doesn’t go their way and yet they are still texting away as if their entire world is featured, in that virtual creature that grows as we feed it our lifespan being set on our batteries our sanity being placed in the hands of some WiFi where is the clarity. We, humans, have become so advanced in our technology that we no longer control it, it controls us. There are no terminators no Robot rebellion because there doesn’t need to be. If you look out onto a busy street you will see that 99.999 percent of us, is busy on some kind of technology. We stare at our phones as if it is some idol God we can’t put it away it’s like our humanity is being sucked through our eyes into that little piece of plastic that has become the new reality. We have reached an all time high with all time lows in somehow the same way we achieved greater technology and yet we can no longer separate ourselves into reality with our VR and AR headsets and games and toys that take the real world and map digital items into it for pleasure. Our Iphones no longer are to help us get stuff done or to help call someone it is to help us get through the day and I promise you if you stand in the middle of a school you will be hearing stuff like; do you have a charger, hey do you have a spare headset i can borrow, oh no my phone is dead just kill me now, I can’t wait to get home so I can use my phone it isn’t fair that this school doesn’t allow us to use our phones. It’s like our lives revolve around our phones it carries everything we need. Except...reality. Where on this phone can I find the feature to restore my humanity. We have become so faithful in our technology we forgot what it’s like to be simply free. Put down your phone. Take a look around you and you may be surprised what you missed as the entire world revolved without you. Sorry, the number you are calling cannot be reached. Please try again. When humanity is awake again.
