Mockingbird Cried

tell me a tale of a girl so long ago bound in her bones by a boy she used to know don't think you’re blind she can see through your disguise ask her no questions and she'll promise you no lies when will we hear the small mockingbird cry the sob of a girl bound in her bones left to die left in a land made by a boy she used to know where is this girl in a tale so long ago hair made of gold laying stranded in the sun eye's looking upward as if to a world beyond hands curling inward as her spirit slowly dies ask her no questions and she'll promise you no lies she used to be full of spirit and beauty loved by a boy who now cursed her to be seen that was the day that she looked into his eyes and say that they betrayed all of his cold heart inside that was the day that love walked away leaving her here in this tale full of pain that was the day that a small creature cried the sound of a girl bound in her bones left to die that was the day the small mockingbird cried of the tale of a girl bound in her bones left to die she'd always have his heart and he'd have hers remembering that day when the mockingbird cried so when you hear the mockingbird cry pray for a girl bound in her bones left to die a tale of two lovers in an endless battle of sky that's what you'll hear when the mockingbird cries
