Modern Myths

Fire, dirt, water, and air

if you live on earth

there's a God or Goddess there.

Greek, Roman, and everything in between.

All connected. Never seen.

They come down now and again

robed in human flesh

so that the most common of us

don't notice a difference.

Mars hangs out in the Middle East.

Anubis runs the morgue down the street.

Diana lives in the midwives taking care of babes.

Zeus leads the USA.

While Poseidon is busy creating waves,

Hadad plays as the weatherman on channel 8.

Now where ever I go, whatever I see,

I look a little deeper

because there just might be

a God or Goddess, hiding right in front of me.
