The Modern Overachiever

Very scrawny with height that goes a mile,

curly hair, long nose, and a flashy smile.

Wearing button ups, khakis, and tennis shoes,

long bony arms, which he didn’t choose.

He has many thoughts, very mysterious,      5

very simple, kind, and hilarious.

Running around campus, not really lurking,

extremely intelligent and hardworking.

Very dedicated and serious,

his schoolwork makes him delirious.            10

He believed in hard work paying off,

and always doing the best anyone has thought.

He says the better you are feeling

the better you will be performing.

He is very respectful toward his peers,         15

and he’s always there as a listening ear.

He believes in growing from your mistakes.

His days are very long but he’s grateful.

Attending college and working hard,

spending long hours studying even harder.   20

Long nights at his computer screen,

lots of time writing essays to be peachy keen.

Running on only six hours of sleep,

day by day getting more and more weak.

Also making time for his friends,                   25

and going out until the night ends.

Making time for mopping and grocery shopping, and dishes are the perfect topping.

He does a lot with all of his time,

but he does it well all the while.                    30
