Molded

Grades are my specialty

When I was six it was drilled into me

In school I'm not learning, I'm raised by Uncle Sam

And it's sit straight, shut up, ma'am yes ma'am

I'm the perfect little student

but inside I've got a secret

My teacher, my school, the world and I

Aren't exactly in agreement

"Express yourself, be creative,

think outside the box"

As long as it's how they want

As long as it raises the stocks

You've molded my mind alright

You've taken my passion for learning

And given me back myself

Without that mysterious yearning

I'm stuck in a rut

Between debt and degree

Stop molding my mind

Just let me be me

They take curious kids

And shoot out materialism

You preach egalitarianism

But practice totalitarianism

We are not our grades

But you disagree

Get out of my head

Just let me be me
