Mom

Dear Mom,

Where do I even start when writing a letter to the women who brought me into this world.

Even though the journey over the past 18 years has been bumpy, I couldn’t imagine anyone else being my mom.

You put up with me on my worst days and laugh with me on my best days.

You drove thousands of miles to make sure I was on time to basketball, volleyball, girl scouts, and dance.

You’ve been the voice I pick out yelling in the stands before every competition and the face I look for as I run off the stage.

You are the shoulder I lean on when something in my live doesn’t go quite right and the person I always want to tell first when something does.

You’re the one who helps me pick apart my messy room when the shirt I want to wear magically “goes missing.”

You never judge me and you always listen with open ears when I need a friend. What else can a girl ask for?

Even though sometimes you are overbearing, loud, annoying, etc. You will always be my mom and for that I am internally grateful.
