Mom

I know you love me, your love is true

But you have a funny way of expressing it,

And with that I haven’t figured out what to do.

Do I repeatedly try and help you?

Or do I simply just give up?

Do I promise to be there, when times are tough?

Do I ignore all my worry?

Or do I tell you how I feel?

The only thing that brings me back is the feeling that your love is real.

I cannot always see it, at least not the way I should.

I just want to be able to tell you one day that “I knew you could”.

I knew you could beat it.

And I knew you always would.

I just hope the faith I have in you

Helps push you to the next phase,

Just put down that aluminum…

And I promise, we will see better days.

The days that you’ve always imagined,

The days I’ve always wanted to come true.

The days where I can tell you…

“I’ve never been so proud of you”

I must stay strong, this time for you.

But Mom please live for me, as I would live for you.
