Mom and I

They asked me how I'd feel if I were stranded on an island

I doubt I could stand it alone, no doubt I'd be frightened

I would take my mom, then the island wouldn't be silent

I would take my mom so the island would see I'm guided

I learned so much from her, she'd let me swim in the ocean

I would fall asleep quickly while others sleep with one eye open

I would be content, like we never fought for reasons

love is so strong it's not something you see on weekends

you hear it all the time, where love is all you need

that saying is so true and I'll hug it with what I believe

Mom I love you and for everything that you teach

because all I need on that island is nothing but you and me
