Mom, I'm scared.

Mom, I’m scared.

I know its normal, and I know I’ll be okay.

But as I walk this campus alone,

I’m worried I’m in the wrong place.

The shakes won’t go,

And my stomach rolls.

My mind and body revolt.

Mom I’m scared,

And I still tremble when I wake.

But I know fear will not stop me.

It is just part of the day

Hey mom. I’m getting help.

This fear, it’s not normal.

And I can’t keep losing weight.

I’m still afraid and I’m not okay.

But I’m doing my best.

I sent the SOS,

Help is on its way.

Mom I’m scared

But I’m being brave.

So listen when I say,

That little girl you sent to college,

She is so very afraid,

but she knows she will be okay.
