That Moment

Trust...

It doesn't really exist to me anymore.

Now that it's broken,

it's forever tarnished.

I've tried to let go and start new,

but everytime I try,

something brings me back to...

That moment.

When it was all lost.

When everything we built was torn apart.

All I want is someone who's genuine.

My heart wants to believe it's you,

but my mind constantly takes me to...

That moment.

You say you've changed,

and you're no longer the one who hurt me,

but how can I know it's not really you?

That moment...

Hurt me.

Broke me.

Scarred me so deeply.

Can I ever get back the person I once was?

My guard is a strong wall,

and the past has a hold on me.

Who knew this could all happen until...

That moment.
