This Moment in Time
Struggle
Through snow, icy whipping wind,
And death calling my name
From every shadow.
Time is endless
And I have fought against all odds
To defeat what surrounds me
Day and Night.
An eternal battle
Against what seems so easy,
Fighting to ignore
That seductive velvet voice.
I'm so tired.
Slowly, effortlessly,
I spiral down
Into the awaiting embrace.
Freeze!
Nothing moves,
Nothing changes,
Nothing continues.
Beauty surrounds me,
A silvered moon sparkles
Upon lulling waves
A whispering spring breeze.
Calm
Seeps into my troubled soul
Chasing away doubt
And strife.
This single moment in time
Never lasts more
Than an instant
No matter how bleak and dark.
Life continues
Seeminly uninterrupted
By a split second choice
And suddenly everything changes...
