The Moments

I love the first drop of rain The start of a storm The feeling of water on flesh I hate when it ends And I have to go in Because the thunder begins Like a howling of pain And the water is tears of regret I love the moment The quintessential moment When everything falls into place I walk through the door Put my bags on the floor Home is my own special space I hate when I leave To go on with my day A tear is shed on the face of my house For when I return And oh I'll return The moment is never the same I love the adventure The simple mystery Life's little questions that haunt For you must seize the day In this game that we play Where no winner is won And no loser is lost I hate the impatience The loss of control Not knowing what comes Not knowing what stays Finding the answer To one of those questions Only for another to raise I love it all I hate it more For this I must always fight Cause it's a losing battle It's a winning battle Just waiting for it all to feel right
