Moments like these
Your face shines as the sun slowly says its goodbye.
We wait for the moon to say hi, but it’s still being a little shy.
The waves crash against the shore, singing its unique song.
The sand dances along.
The sun blushes at the moon’s beauty.
The moon feels blue because the sun will leave at seven thirty.
Eventually the sky turns black with only the stars and moon keeping us company.
Even in the dark your smile looks lovely.
In the distance we hear music playing.
I stand up and start dancing.
I look back at you and see that expression I hold so dearly.
I reach my hand out expectantly.
You stand and put your arms around me.
Eventually we laugh because I said something silly.
I lean forward to kiss you.
Last minute I run away just to ruin the mood.
Eventually you catch me and throw me over your shoulder.
I can’t really fight against someone stronger.
You set me down and I give you the kiss you were waiting for.
You smile and hold my hand as we walk along the shore.
We’ve walked so far we can only hear the night’s song.
This moment doesn’t feel like it’s been long.
Eventually we’ll have to go back to reality.
Just for tonight, it’s just you and me.
So let’s make more memories, even if they’ll just become stories.
