Momma

My momma never taught me, left me to do it by myself.

My momma never left to me.

Never.

Everyday we got up, move to a new house, it's a wild adventure.

Everyday we got a wild adventure.

Wild.

She say ''one day we'll have our own house'', no more adventure.

One day, she says, no more.

More.

I only got one bag, it's filled with stolen books and clothes

I only got one bag, it's stolen.

Books

Momma got the books from the library, said I needed them.

I needed the library, Momma said.

Library.

I used to stay there as Momma work, then she lost it

She used to work, lost it.

Used.

Used books, never new books, but they were all the books I had.

I never had all the books.

All.

I asked for math books, she got the wrong one, I cried.

She got the wrong book, cried.

Cried.

I didn't mean to hurt her, but it was wrong, too easy.

I was wrong to hurt her.

Wrong.

She thought mine was too hard, she couldn't do all of it.

She couldn't do all of mine.

Mine.

She took me to the store after that, they wouldn't take it.

She wouldn't take it, not that.

Take.

Momma asked me which ones I wanted, if we had the money.

Momma had the ones I wanted.

Wanted.

She put them under her shirt and put pencils in her pockets.

She put in her shirt and pockets.

Shirt.

The sweatshirt had been baggy before we came; now it held secrets.

The baggy sweatshirt held secrets.

Secrets.

We told each other everything, Momma said secrets ruined people, even us.

Said secrets ruined everything, even people.

People.

Momma and I stayed with her friends, she mainly knew old men.

I knew her friends, old men.

Old.

The places were old houses and motel rooms, but never snazzy hotels.

Motels, houses, the places were snazzy.

Were.

Momma met with one friend, she said we couldn't come back, ever.

She couldn't come back with me.

Me.

I ruined it all, it'd be nicer if I was never here.

It'd never be ruined, be nicer.

Ruined.

I ran that night to the cops, said, ''arrest me now, please!''

To cops I said, ''arrest me.''

Arrest.

They asked me questions, where my house was, my Momma, my Poppa?

Where was my Poppa, they questioned.

Poppa.

I never knew him, Momma said ''don't want to'', so I didn't.

I didn't want to know him.

Know.

I went in their car, and a lady asked me the same things.

Their lady asked me their things.

Lady.

She wasn't old, but she dressed like it, couldn't ask new things

She couldn't like new things.

New.

Got a new Momma, ''just for the night'' they said, yeah right

Got a new Momma, yeah right.

Right.

I haven't seen Momma since, I wonder what adventure she's on now

I wonder, what adventure now, Momma

Momma.
